Jp has been teaching for 25 plus years in a variety of teaching areas including Social Studies, Film, Technology, Pre-Employment, Alternate Ed and others.  As an educator he has had wonderful opportunities to develop new programs and curriculum, become an author, collaborate with incredible colleagues, and most importantly work with amazing young people from all walks of life.   Outside his professional life Jp enjoys time with his wife and two daughters, along with other friends and family.  Jp is also a long time coach and athlete in the Prince George area who still loves to be involved in a wide range of activities.

Miriam began teaching 25 + years ago in the Northwest Territories and lived and worked in various communities in Western Canada before landing in Prince George with SD57 in 2018. She is excited to join the team at CIDES and the opportunity to help students use distance education to reach their goals. She also appreciates the local mountain bike and ski trails!

Colleen has been teaching in the School District 57 since 2001. She has taught science and math at the Adult Learning Centre for 7 years. She loves teaching adults and is happy to be teaching school aged children again through CIDES courses. She enjoys working one on one in the Learning Centre and encourages her students to drop by the Learning Center during our open hours. Her other passions in life are hiking, biking, skiing and camping with her husband and two teenagers. She has a horse which she competes in the of discipline of Reining and also enjoys going on trail rides with friends.

Tana has been educating elementary aged students for over 20 years in Prince George, Vancouver and Seattle, Washington. Providing students with meaningful and memorable learning experiences is a passion of hers. Tana loves to travel to any destination that involves warm sunshine and a sandy beach.

Shay has been in the district since 2012 as an education assistant. She is a proud member of the Metis Community in Prince George. Her dream to be an indigenous education worker came true in 2021 and she is now one of CIDES indigenous education workers. She enjoys creating many indigenous arts with the students. She loves camping, fishing, drum making, beading, weaving, bag making and many more things. She loves also to sew but do not ask her to hem pants, she makes them shorter than needed.

Leanne is in her 23rd year of teaching. She has taught all primary grades, been a teacher librarian, worked as a District Learning Commons liaison and now she can add Distance Learning to her resume. She has a love of children’s literature and enjoys getting to share that love with her students.

Melanie was born and raised in Prince George and is the product of School District #57 Schools! She loves Prince George and feels very fortunate to live, play, work and raise her daughter here. The world is overflowing with things to learn, and Melanie loves to help students navigate this abundance of knowledge as a Distance Education teacher. Melanie feels that it is important for her students to feel confident, motivated and inspired to learn. In her spare time, she enjoys spending her time with her family, baking, running and joining a yoga class whenever she can. In the spring and summer, she is an avid gardener, and she loves growing flowers of all different varieties.

Cory’s passion for learning and working with inquisitive minds inspired her to enter the teaching profession in 2018. Her goal in Distance Education is to create an inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to engage in their learning and are inspired by the wonders of science in everyday life. She is passionate about the outdoors and spends time with her family, friends, and dog enjoying all that our beautiful province has to offer: hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and camping.
