Provincial Programs

Provincial Resource Programs (PRPs), education programs established by Order of the Minister, are funded by the Ministry of Education and operated by host school districts. Inter-ministerial protocol agreements establish Ministry of Education obligation to provide education programs for students congregated in day or residential programs who are not able to attend regular school programs in the community. The Ministry’s PRP budget currently funds a total of 55 programs in 21 school distincts.

Each year, the Ministry’s PRP Budget Review Committee receives budget proposals in March for the next school year from all the PRPs and annually approves expenditures in April within the funding allocation provided.

The Ministry of Education requires all PRPs to provide an annual outcome report for accountability.
